praising him in the storm

It’s easy to praise God when we’re full of blessings. What if trouble and temptations threaten to sink what we love? How can to praise God in the storm?

Every day of a believer’s life is an opportunity to learn and grow. The closer walk with Christ, the more we will realize how truly sinful and messed up we are. The only way we can thrive in this life is when we focus our eyes completely on Jesus.

‘Not by works of righteousness, which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us.’

Titus 3:5

There is nothing that we can do to cause us to become righteous. It is the Holy Spirit’s job to transform us (Gal. 2:20).  However, the things that we do, say, think, or allow into our hearts can either help to strengthen our walk with Christ or destroy it.

Our mouths can be filled with food, profanities, or gossip. Or… we can choose for our mouths to be filled with praise for God and His loving grace. We can talk about many things and speak to many different people about many different subjects. Or… we can choose to declare the greatness, majesty, and splendor of our heavenly Father all during our day.

How to keep praising God during the Storm

Only by daily submitting our will to the will of our Heavenly Father, can we draw closer to Him – by making decisions every day to forsake self, we are actually telling the Holy Spirit, “Here, I am Lord, use me.”

The Christian’s journey is filled with obstacles. It is like a rocky path, we must continue to keep our keeps on the one leading the way, lest we slip. We may sometimes neglect the instructions of the guide, Jesus, but God’s love for us always calls us back. Today, let us allow God to shape us into what He wants us to be.

Let’s keep our minds fixed on the only one who can save us, Jesus Christ.

Why don’t we choose to praise God with our mouths and tell him of his greatness and let others know of his grace as we go about today’s activities? Every day, God gifts us a lot of things to remember his grace. Open your eyes, look around and find at least one thing today to say “Thank you, Lord” and you will find yourself praising God, even in the middle of a storm

Have you ever felt burned out or overwhelmed? Me too. Once I was so overwhelmed and anxious that I did not realize I had used one whole bottle of shampoo in one single shower. But I found a way to channel and triumph over anxiety, it’s all summed up in ten simple and effective steps here, in my book
